The Great Gedling Edit

A summer skatepark filming contest

Over £250 worth of prizes to be won!

Best edit winners: Dan, Gaucher, Jacob & Bambi. See our Instagram for all edits!

  • Film clips skating 3 or more Gedling skateparks (there are 9 to visit!) throughout July & August 2024 - by yourself, or with your mates

  • Share your clips on Instagram as you go, tagging @skatenottingham and #GedlingSkateparks, so we can see who’s on it!

  • Put your clips together into a final edit - the best one shared on Instagram by Saturday 31st August will win £100 to spend at the skate shop of your choice!

  • Spot prizes will be awarded throughout July & August for challenges - listed below and advertised on Skate Nottingham’s Instagram

Final edits will be judged by several criteria, including: number of Gedling skateparks visited, range of skateparks (both familiar & unfamiliar), originality of edits (get creative!), and quality of tricks & overall edit. Geddit!

Challenge one: Best trick on the Standhill ledge - a familiar favourite, we want to see what you’ve got for one of the most skated ledges in Notts.

Challenge two: Best clips at Lambley Lane skatepark - get weird and bring some creativity to one of Nottingham’s oldest & quirkiest metal parks, and leave thankful knowing that skatepark design has rapidly evolved since the early 2000s!

Challenge three: Best photo at a Gedling skatepark - it could be a skate photo, a moment in between, a portrait, digital or film - get creative while out stacking clips! Our favourite image shot in July/August 2024 and shared on Instagram (tag @skatenottingham and #GedlingSkateparks) will win a £50 voucher for Make It Easy Lab, to be spent on anything from processing, prints, film, workshops, 1-2-1s and more!

Challenge four: Best line on the Colwick curbs - head down to the former Joshua Dale skatepark in Colwick and put your best line together! Our favourite will win £25 worth of cash, vouchers & product.

Challenge five: Best clip or photo wearing a football shirt - head out to any of the Gedling skateparks in a football shirt and capture something for the ‘gram. We have a £45 voucher for Art of Football up for grabs!

Terms & conditions

  • The top prize of £100 is a single prize only - to be shared between participants if a group entry wins. It will be awarded in the form of skate shop vouchers or similar, for your choice of UK skate shop.

  • Spot prizes include tenners, vouchers for Blend coffee shops, one £50 voucher for Make It Easy Lab, one £45 voucher for Art of Football, Skate Nottingham postcard packs & Sneinton Life pin badges. These will be awarded as we see fit.

  • Any format for your edits is fine, but 9x16 - Instagram reel format - is preferred

  • Footage must be shot during July & August 2024

  • This contest is open to all disciplines of skatepark user - including skateboarding, BMXing, Roller/quad skating, etc.
